Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge Program at Clear Horizons is used to bolster incoming freshmen who need academic supports to be adequately prepared for all honors courses.  Once the cumulative folders are received from the ten intermediate schools in June, an analysis will be made of the academic backgrounds of the new 125 freshmen.  Four half-days in late July will be reserved for this invitation-only program.

The Summer Bridge Program will be facilitated by faculty members of the ECHS and will include content specific activities, along with AVID instructional strategies that support the development of executive functioning skills.  The 8th graders who participate in the Summer Bridge Program will be kept together as a cohort through their Freshman Advisory, which will meet daily throughout the school year.  These cohorts will be led and supported by teachers from the Summer Bridge Program.
