TSIA Performance

The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help colleges and universities determine if students are ready for the rigors of college level coursework in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.  Clear Horizons students take the TSIA as part of the enrollment process.  As Clear Horizons is located on the South Campus of San Jacinto College, students are able to test any day the testing center is open.  The TSIA is required for all incoming college students in Texas.  For more information about the TSIA, please see the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board website at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/.

 The testing Center is normally open for entrance Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Students who do not reach a passing score on the TSIA are invited to tutorial sessions with one of the certified English teachers on campus.  Students also have access to online TSIA tutorial material.  Additionally, students are offered admittance into a one-day class which specifically addresses the TSIA.
